A Good Read

I have pulled out my Alice Starmore knitting books to look at patterns last night. I bought Tudor Roses for the beautiful patterns and although I have perused those patterns many times, I had not taken the time to actually read the story behind each. The designs are inspired by and named for the royal Tudor family of Henry VII and his heir Henry VIII along with this son's multiple wifes, Katerine of Argon, Anne Boleyn and their daughter, Elizabeth I, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, Jane Seymour and Catherine Parr.

I am currently reading Aran Knitting by Alice Starmore. Although I am in no mood to knit another motif intense sweater right now, I am facinated with Alice's research and debunking the myth and origin of the aran sweater.
