Mmm Latte - Knitting Saves The Day.

I love my daily latte. You probably could guess that from my profile picture. My favorite flavoring for it is almond. But I also have almond roca and german chocolate cake flavorings (all sugarless of course) and choose one according to my mood at the time. I have never have been a coffee drinker. In fact, my husband, a coffee drinker, introduced me to them at the local mall one day just shortly after they became popular here it the Seattle area. Now espresso stands are on just about every corner around here. I was hooked. I have had small an inexpensive espresso machine for years. When it died, I stepped up to a nicer one. I allow myself one latte a day and take my time savoring it. It is like a ritual for me. However, by the time I get to the bottom of cup, the liquid is cold. Well that is where knitting comes in. Last week KittingDaily released Garter Mug Cozies pattern (pattern is a free download until April 24, 2008). It was just what I needed. So last night I pulled out some left over Patons Classic Wool (from purple gansey sweater) and knit it up. Now I can be one with my hot latte. Ohmmmm......

The picture above is of my favorite latte cup and new cozy. On my monitor, the cozy color looks blue to me. It is really a periwinkle color.

Note: I added this project to my Ravelry notebook. I also took a look at all of the mugs cozies that others had made and found that this pattern has been made in many types and weights of yarn. If you are a Ravelry user take a peek here.

I just found your blog! The mug cozies are great (thanks for the information about downloading). They (at least one) are next on my list to knit. Am starting sox tomorrow in a class. I like how you talked about your fav latte.

Oh, yum. I love lattes, too. Or fresh, whole milk cafe au lait. And sitting outside with a latte and my knitting? Mmmm. Thanks for reminding me of one of my favorite things :-)
